Club History

Trevor Bounds has been looking through an archive of paperwork and some interesting material has been found.  An old photograph of founding member Jack Burford has been found where he is presented with a plaque to mark his 50th anniversary at the club with the date range 1927 - 1977.  This would suggest the club was founded in 1927, though it is not clear at the moment if this was the time the clubs name was changed from "Witney British Legion Miniature Rifle Club" to "Witney Rifle Club".  It would be nice to know when the name changed.
